After an amazing summer filled with music camps and creativity, we are excited to announce that our Fall Music and Arts Programs are officially starting this weekend, September 20-21! Whether you’re a seasoned musician or just beginning your artistic journey, our fall offerings provide a vibrant space to develop your talents, build community, and stay connected with your corps.
Fellowship Band: The Heartbeat of Brass
We’re kicking things off with the return of our Fellowship Band, a traditional British-style brass band that meets once a month at our divisional headquarters. This group is perfect for anyone who loves the challenge and beauty of classic Salvation Army music. Open to all skill levels, the Fellowship Band brings together brass players to perform inspiring music while fostering fellowship and shared passion.
Whether you’ve been playing for years or are picking up your instrument again after some time away, you’ll find a welcoming and dedicated group of musicians ready to grow together. Want to know more? Reach out to me at marlon.jones@usw.salvationarmy.org for details.
Youth Music and Arts Club: Creativity for Kids
Also launching this weekend is our popular Youth Music and Arts Club, a once-a-month meet-up designed for young people ages 7-17. This program is an incredible opportunity for youth to explore their artistic talents, whether it’s through music, drama, or dance. We aim to support each participant’s creative growth while maintaining strong ties to their local corps.
Here’s a glimpse of the classes we offer:
Brass Band: For young brass enthusiasts looking to enhance their playing skills.
Worship Band: A chance to dive into contemporary music, focusing on worship and performance.
Drama: Perfect for those who want to express themselves through the performing arts.
Dance: For kids eager to explore movement and choreography.
Our goal is to help kids grow creatively while keeping Christ at the center of their journey. The Youth Music and Arts Club works alongside local corps programs, encouraging spiritual and artistic development in a fun, supportive environment.
Volunteers Needed: Join Our Team!
Our programs wouldn’t be possible without the dedication of our volunteers, which include Salvation Army soldiers, officers, and parents. However, as our programs expand, we’re always in need of more hands to help out. If you’re passionate about music, the arts, or mentoring youth, we’d love to have you on board!
Whether you want to assist with classes or help organize events, your support is invaluable in helping us create a positive and enriching experience for all. Interested in volunteering or getting your child involved? Send me an email at marlon.jones@usw.salvationarmy.org.
Grow With Us!
At the Southwest Division Music Department, we’re on a mission to help kids grow both musically and spiritually, while also fostering a sense of community. By participating in our programs, youth have the chance to develop their God-given talents and be part of something truly special.
To learn more about our Fellowship Band, Youth Music and Arts Club, or to volunteer, don’t hesitate to get in touch. Let’s come together to nurture the next generation of musicians and artists—and bring them closer to Christ.
