SW Youth Band

Ages 8–25 | Previous playing experience required

SW Youth Band grew out of the excitement of our Junior Band at Southwest Music & Gospel Arts Camp. Our young musicians wanted to keep playing together after camp, so the Youth Band provides a way to continue that experience throughout the year while welcoming other young musicians from across the division.

The band gives players an opportunity to make music together, strengthen their musicianship, build friendships, and prepare music for worship services, concerts, and divisional events.

This is not a beginner instrumental group. Musicians should already have experience playing in a corps/church group, school music program, private lessons, or another ensemble and be comfortable reading music. The goal is to build on that foundation while helping each player continue to grow musically and spiritually.
